20w3d

It's a girl! She's measuring about a week ahead, mostly due to her length. She's long like me. We got a couple good pictures, but every time we had a good view of her head and the tech switched to 4d, she turned away again. So much for that... We have regular pictures though, and that's good enough for me. I would post them, but I'm kind of too lazy to scan and upload them. I'm worn out.

We had an OB appointment after the ultrasound, and my fundal height is right on target for 20 weeks, so all is well there too. I talked to her about my giant swollen legs of doom that happened during our road trip, and she wasn't terribly concerned because they didn't hurt that bad. DVT is always a concern with pregnant women, but I seem to be fine. Yay me.

Still no wedding pictures. Boo...

Ok, I'm too tired to form a proper post. I must nap for a few minutes while J is out at his dad's. That poor boy is so excited he's bouncing around like a rubber ball. The background on his computer is now a picture of our daughter, with her name. I'll share her name eventually, but I'm not quite ready yet. It's somewhat unconventional, I guess, and I've taken some heat for it from people I HAVE shared it with. My theory is kind of, you name your kids, I'll name mine... But still. Just feeling too good today to have anyone rain on my parade. I'm off to nap!

Sorry!

I've been gone a very long time. But there is good reason, I promise. I was really busy with the being on the coast, walking on the beach, and getting married. J & I are officially Mr. and Mrs. P. Yay for us! We had a tiny (really tiny) wedding on the beach that included me, J, and our minister. It was beautiful and perfect and everything that we wanted. I couldn't possibly be happier. He's a keeper (and the tungsten carbide ring on his finger says that I'm the one who gets to keep him. Lucky!)

Big ultrasound is scheduled for Tuesday, and then we should know gender and things like that. The baby moves a lot now, so I don't worry quite so much. Of course, if a few hours go by without feeling anything, I start to worry. Usually, I take comfort in the fact that I'm not even 20 weeks and I have an anterior placenta. I should count myself lucky I feel anything at all. Wednesday night, though, we were in Walmart... J was playing around with the toys in the baby section, making them play their songs. He started one and The Critter started moving around. He put it closer to my belly and scored a kick to the bladder that was so hard it hurt. Glad she's strong enough to hurt me. Incredibly grateful, actually.

I can't even make a big excited post right now because I'm so bummed for my blog friend Jen, who had to say goodbye to her baby. She was only 3 weeks behind J & I in her pregnancy.

As soon as I have wedding pictures and all that fun stuff, I will post them, I promise. Right now, I guess I just feel like having some more quiet time. What happened to Jen has really scared the crap out of me and made me unbelievably sad.

16w3d

I had another OB appointment this morning. Heart rate was around 150 on the doppler. I'm still down 7 pounds from my first pregnancy appointment, but he's not terribly concerned. I have gained 2 pounds since my last visit. He has instructed me to eat when I'm hungry - novel advice, yes?

We also scheduled the ultrasound to find out gender. I think it'll even be 4D. It will be March 29 - at 20w3d. I can't wait.

I spent today shopping with Mom and J. I bought a bunch of maternity clothes that I desperately needed. My pants are all too tight, and my shirts are all too short. I actually got 2 pair of cargo pants that convert to capris, 3 t-shirts, a pack of underwear, a hooded sweat suit, a pair of yoga pants, a long sleeved t-shirt, and a basic white camisole for $185 at Motherhood. I guess it's not so bad when you consider just how much I got. I just hate spending money on clothes that I won't wear all that long. I also splurged on new hair products. Yay me!

Now, it's back to reality. Going to try to get some painting and trim work done around the house. Tomorrow, it's grocery shopping and more painting. Friday, I must take Bo to the vet to see about getting some work done on his tail... Busy week for the Manda. This is good.

Oh, and by the way, I'm getting married in just over 3 weeks. Woohoo.
